Given Wike’s history of service as a two-term governor and now a minister, Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, has praised the honor bestowed upon FCT Minister Nyesom Wike during the 35th Convocation Ceremony and 50th Anniversary Celebration of UNIPORT as both timely and well-deserved.
He characterized Wike as a visionary and transformative leader whose advancements in development and governance continue to influence Nigeria’s course.
To congratulate his predecessor on receiving a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa from the University of Port Harcourt, Fubara signed a statement on Saturday on behalf of his family and the people of Rivers State.
“This distinguished recognition is not only a celebration of your illustrious accomplishments,” he noted, “but a testament to your contributions to education, governance, and the betterment of society.”
Wike’s work has improved many lives and given people fresh hope for leadership, Fubara emphasized.
“Your alma mater honoring you for your exceptional dedication and the strategic role you continue to play in shaping Nigeria’s future is only fitting,” he said.
He was incredibly proud of the accomplishment and congratulated the FCT Minister, hoping him even more success in the years to come.
