Tunde Smooth serves as the 2025 Ijaw Media Conference’s Father of the Day.
The upcoming Ijaw Media Conference 2025 will feature Chief Tunde Smooth, the Bolowei of the Niger Delta, as Father of the Day.
The Ijaw Publishers Forum is organizing the yearly event, which is in its second year, with the topic “Safeguarding Niger Delta’s Natural Resources for Future Generations.”
Members of the Central Working Committee, under the command of Pastor Arex Akemotubo, paid Chief Smooth a quick visit on Tuesday and gave him the official invitation.
The subject for this year, according to Akemotubo during the visit, shows growing concern over the strain on the area’s waters and land.
According to him, the forum’s objectives are to raise public awareness, promote ethical and responsible reporting, and draw attention to leaders’ responsibility to protect the region’s cultural legacy.
He noted that Chief Smooth was a good fit for the honor because of his lengthy history of promoting culture and his consistent participation in local issues.
In addition to welcoming the delegation, Chief Smooth discussed the importance of collaboration between professional associations, traditional institutions, and community organizations.
He gave the Forum his full support for the conference and commended them for their efforts to use the media to safeguard the interests of the Niger Delta.
Additionally, he urged other interested parties around the Ijaw nation to support projects that protect the environment and build the future of the area.
