The Law Publishers Forum (IPF) paid Governor Diri and the Traditional Prime Minister of Kabowei Kingdom an official visit in Yenagoa in advance of the Ijaw Media Conference/Annual Dialogue 2024.

The Traditional Prime Minister of Kabowei Kingdom was briefed by team leader comrade Ozobo about the purpose of the visit, stating that the IPF body had come to inform him of her upcoming Ijaw media conference in 2024.

IPF, according to Comrade Ozobo, is all about giving the Ijaw people a voice. He also claimed that we have become overly reliant on foreign media and neglected to create our outfits. There are media houses for other Indigenous groups such as the Yoruba, Ausa, Uhorobos, and Itsekiri, etc These Indigenous media outlets write for their respective indigenous audiences, but what about the Ijaws? That is why the IPF was established so that we can do the same for the Ijaws.

The IPF body spans all Ijaw ethnic states in the Niger Delta, and Comrade Ozobo emphasized that the IPF will stand up and speak for the Ijaw people when necessary.

Bayelsa State is deemed suitable for the Ijaw media conference on December 11, 2024, according to Ozobo. Noting that the majority of the information written about the Ijaw people is occasionally erroneous

“The idea is a welcome development,” the traditional prime minister said, complimenting the IPF’s persistence in telling the Ijaw story most acceptably.

“This is a world-class idea and will further expose our people,” he remarked. To encourage a more significant Ijaw presence in the media industry, he continued, it is extremely commendable to create a body to direct and coordinate Ijaw media practitioners.

He did, however, pledge to help the organization prosper and will participate in the momentous occasion on December 11, 2024.

The event, “Advancing the Quest for Economic/Political Freedom in a Siege Nation,” sought to unite stakeholders and leaders to investigate creative alternatives for the economic development of the Niger Delta and the Ijaw people. The event aimed to empower local media professionals and promote economic discourse.

IPF’s Central Working Committee (CWC) chairman, Comrade Ozobo Austin, led the delegation, along with committee members MMD Tamsokunbiri, CEO of Kpakam TV, Mr. Sunday Ayemofaye, CEO of Ogulagha Vanguards/Committee Secretary and Mr. Benjamin Tamaradoubra, CEO of Ijaw Heritage TV.
