PDP: Nigerians are smarter; the 2027 elections will be a fight against famine.

According to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) is responsible for hunger, insecurity, and suffering, and the 2027 elections will be a fight against these issues.
PDP spokesperson Debo Ologunagba stated during a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday that Nigerians have grown “wiser” and will not re-elect the APC.
Ologunagba asserted that poverty has been weaponized by the ruling party and that the economic instability that the populace faces will be a determining factor in the 2027 election.
“Nigerians are wiser now; what will be on the ballot is hunger, insecurity, and uncertainty — things no money can buy,” he said.
“When PDP was in government, farmers used mobile phones to access fertiliser; under APC, Nigerians are forced to buy hunger; in 2027, the people will speak with one voice.”
Additionally, he claimed that during the by-elections held in Kaduna and Taraba states last weekend, the APC employed security forces against PDP members.
All of the PDP’s top officials were taken into custody the night before the election. Switch to the state of Taraba. “Notable individuals, including elected members of our party, were taken into custody,” he continued.
“That isn’t what we call an election. We have also heard of the APC’s conceit. Their actions throughout those elections bear witness to their goals for 2027.
But for APC, I have bad news. In 2027, there won’t be a by-election like those, which they refer to as an election. Why? Nigerians are smarter, which is the reason.
“They are hurting. What will be on the ballot in 2027 will be the hunger, the uncertainty, and the insecurity that no money can purchase.”
Ologunagba reaffirmed that the PDP national convention would take place in Ibadan, Oyo state, on November 15–16.
According to him, the Adamawa governor Ahmadu Fintiri has presided over the inauguration of the national convention organizing committee, and a number of subcommittees are already in operation.

According to reports, the scheduled convention may not succeed because Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and his supporters have not yet endorsed it.
The claim was rejected by the PDP spokesperson as “baseless” and “hallucinatory.”
“We cannot be aware of a non-existing thing. That’s indeed a speculation. How do you have a national convention? There is a process, and we’re a party of process indeed. And what we do is that we follow the constitution of our party,” he said.
“It’s interesting to note that the procedure has begun, and we have been in communication with INEC, our regulator.
“INEC has participated in every meeting. They are present at every action we take. It may be a publicity stunt, with individuals trying things out. It doesn’t exist, in actuality. Hard work is being done by the local organizing committee.
“The venue committee has already started working in advance. They are already at work before those subcommittees are even officially established. We also take a methodical approach to our work. Consequently, it is most likely speculative.
“I think it would be in the realm of hallucination. And this train has moved on. It’s gone past the bus stop.”
Convention preparations are underway, Ologunagba continued.
