Otuaro: The Reasons for Extending the Presidential Amnesty Scholarship Program.

Doctor Dennis Otuaro, the administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Program, has stated his steadfast dedication to making sure that more underprivileged students and Niger Delta communities take use of the PAP scholarship program.

He said this while outlining the factors that influenced his choice to broaden the program, give underprivileged youngsters more access to formal education, and develop a sizable labor pool in the area.

Otuaro addressed the recipients of the scholarship program, which is being used for undergraduate and graduate studies at universities throughout the United Kingdom, during an interactive session held in London on Saturday.

The Presidential Amnesty Program boss organized the engagement, which gave the Office and the scholarship students a chance to talk about problems that affect their welfare and difficulties in order to find solutions.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, 3800 in-country scholarships were deployed, but in the 2025–2026 academic year, that number rose to 3900, and there were roughly 200 international scholarships, according to Otuaro.

He commended the Office of the National Security Adviser and President Bola Tinubu’s overwhelming support for the deployment increase.

Otuaro emphasized that he was tremendously inspired by Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the President, and the NSA, and that he is aware of their admiration for the PAP’s actions, which are in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He reaffirmed his demand that students work hard in order to earn good grades in order to justify the Federal Government’s significant investment in their education.

While in the United Kingdom, he also emphasized that “you will be adding value to your families and communities when you complete your programs successfully” and advised them to behave responsibly as Nigerian ambassadors.

“We want the scholarship program to impact more students and communities in the Niger Delta,” stated the PAP helmsman. We have therefore boosted formal education opportunities and expanded it.

“In order to inspire the government as well, we want you to take this chance extremely seriously. The Presidential Amnesty Program has the endorsement of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu GCFR, which I am aware of.

“Mr. President and Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser (NSA), are quite pleased with our work. I want to thank His Excellency and the NSA once more on your behalf for providing you with this opportunity that will change your life. We have faith that the NSA and Mr. President will be there for us.

“You may plan yourself and get ready for the future with the knowledge you are learning in your institutions today. You cannot take back any knowledge you acquire.

Therefore, we anticipate that you will behave responsibly and well as PAP scholarship recipients. You have a responsibility to defend the significant investment the government is making in you. While in the United Kingdom, be change agents and refrain from mischievous behavior.
