Opukeme, a well-known N’Delta journalist, loses his mother; IPF mourns.

The mother of distinguished journalist and Daily Watch publisher Mr. Cletus Opukeme, Mrs. Goodluck Opukeme, is being mourned throughout the Nigerian journalism community, particularly the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum.
Following a brief illness, Mrs. Opukeme passed away on Friday, September 20, in a private hospital in Sagbama, Bayelsa State.
Mrs. Opukeme, who was born on February 15, 1951, in Tuomo town, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, was a source of strength for her family and the neighborhood.
In a touching press release announcing his mother’s loss, Mr. Cletus Opukeme expressed his profound grief and gratitude for the outpouring of support.
“The Opukeme family is devastated by the demise of our beloved matriarch, Mrs. Goodluck Opukeme. Although her death has left a gap in our lives, Mr. Opukeme stated, “We find solace in the recollections of her love, wisdom, and unwavering support.”
“The official burial date will be revealed soon, and the family will meet to decide on it.
“Mrs. Goodluck Opukeme’s legacy will be cherished by her family, friends, and the community she touched throughout her life”.
Nonetheless, during this trying time, condolences are being sent to Mr. Cletus Opukeme and his family.
