Jonathan visits and extols the virtues of the former Nigerian military leader at IBB@84.

During his visit to Nigeria on Sunday, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan praised former Military Head of State General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), who turned 84, as one of the greatest leaders the nation has produced since gaining its independence.
“IBB did his best for the country,” said former President Jonathan, who praised the important qualities of IBB, particularly during his time as president and in spite of the criticism of the previous administration.
Former President Jonathan stated, “IBB did his best as a Military Head of State, which is why people still visit regularly to this day,” in contrast to what some people believe. His home is a type of Mecca, which speaks much about IBB’s personality.
“One thing is that General Babangida stands out very clearly as one of those committed leaders that wants the best for this country,” stated the former Nigerian leaders who had a private meeting with IBB.
“He takes Nigeria, the whole country as his own. IBB is not a sectional leader, he is somebody who believes in the unity of this country. He has his friends that cuts across all the corners of this country”.
Goodluck Jonathan prayed that God would continue to give the former leader the strength to continue mentoring the next generation, saying, “IBB is one person we will continue to celebrate.”
In addition to being a leader, IBB also thinks that Nigeria is indivisible, saying, “He has done well and we will continue to celebrate him.” In order for him to continue mentoring the younger ones, we pray for a longer lifespan.
