Ijaw leaders calls for uncontested support for Oborevwori in 2027 Governorship election.

Chief Mulade Sheriff, PhD, a distinguished Niger Delta environmental and human rights advocate, has commended Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the successful commencement of the N59.7 billion Lagos-Asaba Expressway Flyover project in Agbor. Highlighting the governor’s exemplary leadership and developmental strides, Chief Mulade called on politicians to refrain from opposing Oborevwori in the forthcoming 2027 governorship elections, emphasizing the importance of sustaining the progress made for the benefit of Delta State residents.

Addressing the press in Asaba following the flyover groundbreaking ceremony at Uromi Junction, Chief Mulade lauded the governor’s commitment to infrastructural development. “We have witnessed the groundbreaking of another significant flyover in the state. Having recently completed the Ughelli flyover and now initiating the Agbor project, these developments are set to enhance economic activities across the region. The governor merits commendation for his dedication to advancing our state,” he stated.

He further remarked, “Governor Oborevwori assumed office fully prepared to lead and has consistently fulfilled his promises.”

In his capacity as Ibe-Serimowei of the historic, oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Mulade also praised Governor Oborevwori’s recent distribution of 65 brand-new SUVs to traditional rulers statewide, describing it as a positive and respectful gesture.

“To the media, I express sincere gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for equipping our traditional leaders with new vehicles. His performance has been outstanding, and we take pride in his respect for the custodians of our culture,” he affirmed.

Concluding his remarks, Chief Mulade urged widespread support for Governor Oborevwori’s re-election bid, underscoring the need to consolidate ongoing, people-centered initiatives. “In light of the remarkable progress achieved, we should encourage the governor to continue his work. I appeal to political actors to avoid distracting him by contesting the governorship, considering his effective leadership since taking office. We look forward to further project inaugurations across the state, with particular focus on riverine communities this year,” he concluded.
