BREAKING: WAEC appoints new head for Nigeria national office.
Dr. Amos Josiah Dangut has been appointed the new head of the Nigeria National Office by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
This declaration was made in a statement released by WAEC on Monday. Dr. Dangut held the position of the deputy registrar before this appointment.
He takes over from Patrick Areghan, whose tenure will be concluded this month.
The statement claims that Dr. Dangut started working at WAEC in 1998 as an Assistant Registrar II and rapidly rose through the ranks until he was appointed Deputy Registrar in April 2018.
His transparent management of examinations between 2000 and 2006 earned him commendation from the Nigeria Examinations Committee, which is noteworthy.
He has also held the Assistant Registrar/Subject Officer position at the Test Development Division, WAEC Lagos (July 1998 – January 2005).
Additionally, the statement emphasized his 25-year history of utilizing information and communications technology (ICT) to improve test development, test administration, and post-test activities processes.
Dr Dangut is recognised as a scholarly figure with multiple educational publications in international and national journals.
He has also presented papers and delivered several keynote speeches at both national and international conferences.
