Reports linking Tompolo to Nnamdi Kanu’s release ultimatum are disapproved of by the PBAT Group.
According to some newspapers, the Grand Patron of the PBAT Door To Door Movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, gave the Federal Government a 21-day ultimatum to free Nnamdi Kanu. The leadership of the movement has publicly denounced this as a mischievous and untrue lie.
The group’s National Coordinator, Sunday Asuku, said in a statement on Sunday that the assertion was completely unfounded and the product of desperate propagandists, false news merchants, fifth columnists, and agents of divisiveness.
Asuku claimed that Tompolo’s outstanding dedication to national peace and development had exposed the false news merchants’ scheme to sow discord and provoke the Federal Government against him.
He noted that it was now obvious to astute observers that Tompolo’s unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda had significantly agitated those who had issued the 21-day ultimatum.
Security agencies were encouraged by the PBAT Door To Door Movement to look into and apprehend individuals responsible for the bogus news.
“Regardless of tribal, religious, zonal, or political affiliation, these elements are determined to cause tension and undermine the patriotic endeavors of a man who has remained an icon of peace, unity, national development, socio-economic, and political diversity,” Asuku stated.
“It is clear that Chief Tompolo’s steadfast backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has caused some organizations to feel uneasy about his increasing influence in promoting economic development and national stability. Their attempt to damage his reputation by spreading false information, however, will be unsuccessful.
“Just to be clear, Chief Tompolo never made a remark or gave an order over Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s legal case. Any attempt to impede due process would be illegal and disloyal, as the matter is before a competent court of law.
“The PBAT Door To Door Movement would like to stress that matters pertaining to national security and unity must be handled with the highest care and consideration.
“Nigeria’s collective peace and progress are seriously threatened by the careless use of social media to spread divisive misinformation, which also compromises the integrity of public discourse.
Therefore, we urge citizens, opinion leaders, and influencers to practice moderation, encourage factual reporting, and back the government’s continuous efforts to create a stable and inclusive country.
“Chief Tompolo has continuously shown his dedication to maintaining Nigeria’s peace and stability, especially in the Niger Delta, where his work has supported the country’s economic lifeline. His priorities as a peace activist and patriot continue to be bolstering the solidarity of Nigerians across racial and religious divides and cementing the successes of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which is clearly not sitting well with the insurgents.
“The misinformation and nasty publications are meant to damage Chief Tompolo’s cordial connection with the government because of his current trend and advocacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which has unnerved Nigeria’s opponents.
Therefore, we urge the Department of State Services (DSS) and other pertinent security organizations to conduct a comprehensive investigation and apprehend individuals responsible for this careless act. Nigeria’s security and unity are seriously threatened by the willful dissemination of false information, and such behavior must be tolerated.
“The PBAT Door To Door Movement is unwavering in its resolve to use honest communication and civic involvement to advance peace, sound governance, and national unity. Nigerians are urged to ignore the misleading article and to always double-check information before posting anything online.
