President Bola Tinubu will address Nigerians on Wednesday at 7 a.m. to celebrate their 65th Independence Day. Independence Day broadcast remarks.

On Tuesday, Bayo Onanuga, special assistant to the president on information and strategy, said via X that all television, radio, and electronic media platforms shall broadcast from the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN). 

Tinubu will give his third Independence Day address since taking office on May 29, 2023. His predecessors utilized the October 1 broadcast to reflect on the country’s independence from Britain in 1960 and define policy priorities.

National unity, economic reforms, and the administration’s aims for the year are expected from the president.

The federal government canceled the Independence Day parade on Monday. Instead, October 1 is a public holiday.
