Otuaro grieves pioneer PAP boss Gen. Godwin Abbe.
Dr Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, has expressed deep grief over Maj-Gen Godwin Abbe’s death.
Abbe, 75, died on Saturday in Abuja following a brief illness.
Otuaro regarded Abbe’s death as a shock and a significant loss to the nation, the military institution, and Edo State.
He described Abbe as a fearless, brave, and hardworking military officer who served Nigeria honorably and with a strong sense of patriotic duty.
According to Otuaro, the former military governor of Akwa Ibom and Rivers States, as well as Minister of Defence and Interior, established the groundwork for the PAP during his tenure as its inaugural chairman from 2009 to 2010.
The administrator emphasized that Abbe’s outstanding legacies on the show had left an indelible mark on the audience.
He offered his profound condolences to the military forces, the Abbe’s family, the community and the government, and the decent people of his state, Edo.
Otuaro stated, “I received with deep grief and astonishment the news of Maj-Gen Godwin Abbe’s demise following a brief illness in Abuja on Saturday.
“His departure is a tremendous loss to the nation, the military, and Edo State. He was a bold, fearless, and dedicated military commander who served his country honorably.
“As the inaugural chairman of the Presidential Amnesty initiative (2009-2010), Maj-Gen Godwin Abbe established a solid basis on which the initiative has made significant development since its beginning.
“I sympathize with the military institution, his family, community, the government, and the good people of Edo State on the tragic tragedy.
.“I pray to God for the eternal repose of his soul and to grant his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this loss.”
