Oil Theft: Otuaro Assures Defense Team of PAP Support.
Demonstrates Self-Assurance Higher Oil Production Would Continue

The Defense Headquarters Joint Monitoring Team has received assurances from Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Program, that the PAP will assist them in their mission to prevent pipeline damage and crude oil theft in the Niger Delta.
During a courtesy visit to the PAP Office in Abuja on Thursday, Otuaro said that the joint monitoring team, headed by Major General Jamil Jimoh, deserved assistance in lowering the threat of assaults on vital oil infrastructure and illicit oil bunkering.
In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Igoniko Oduma, the PAP leader stated that the Office was open to collaborating with the joint monitoring team.
In the government’s resolve to address the issues in the area, he emphasized that it was a component of the mandate that President Bola Tinubu had given him.
As a result of the increased efforts to combat pipeline vandals and crude oil thieves, he expressed his satisfaction that the nation’s oil production output had surpassed 1.8 million barrels per day.
Otuaro went on to say he was sure the rise will continue.
“National and human security in the country and the region is the core of the PAP,” Otuaro stated. At any time, we will collaborate with you. It’s among the things we may do in accordance with the directive that His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given me.
“Based on that, we will collaborate with you to ensure the eradication of oil bunkering and other related activities in the Niger Delta. The country’s oil production output is on the rise and has reached 1.8 million barrels per day as announced sometime last week by the NNPCL. We are confident that it will increase more than that.”
In addition to strengthening stakeholder engagement for long-term peace and stability in the area, he said the PAP was actively carrying out the program’s reintegration phase through initiatives in formal education, vocational training, and post-training empowerment of delegates, beneficiaries, and women.
In the strategic interest of stability and national security, Otuaro also informed the joint monitoring team that additional financing would enable improved management and administration of the program’s growing scope.
Major General Jamil Jimoh, the team’s head, had already asked the PAP for assistance so they could perform their duties effectively and clarified that the visit was a component of the team’s Niger Delta tour to engage with stakeholders.
In addition to praising the PAP administrator for his diligent efforts to maintain long-term peace and stability in the Niger Delta, he emphasized that Otuaro’s familiarity with the area helped preserve its atmosphere.
“We have met with some stakeholders while we have been in the Niger Delta,” Jamil stated. However, we believed it was crucial that we also pay a visit to the administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Program, which was founded by the federal government and has effectively restored calm to the Niger Delta.
“The Administrator knows a lot about that general area. He knows the people, and what is happening there and he will guide us on some of the things we want to do.
“We know that he has been doing a lot to make sure things are happening underground in the Niger Delta to maintain peace and stability. So we decided to meet him and his team today.”
