PAP dismisses Participation in “Demobilization Exercise” for Pipeline Protection

The Niger Delta is being used by dishonest people to collect money from gullible people for pipeline surveillance and other vocational professions. The Presidential Amnesty Programme has distanced itself from this so-called “demobilization exercise.”
The PAP Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Igoniko Oduma, signed a statement on Tuesday stating that the Office received a ton of enquiries from stakeholders on the fraudulent exercise, which prompted the need for the clarification.
It claimed that Niger Deltans are not need to pay fees or ask for favors in order to be eligible for the PAP Office’s educational scholarship program or vocational training initiatives, which are led by Otuaro.
In order to catch these individuals and bring them to justice, the Office asked the public to be on lookout and report them to security services.
The statement read, “It has come to the attention of the Presidential Amnesty Programme that some unscrupulous elements are going about collecting money from unsuspecting Niger Deltans for a purported demobilisation exercise by the PAP Office.
“These unpatriotic elements claim that the PAP Office will use the demobilisation exercise to recruit people for training in pipeline surveillance and other vocational trades.
“Our findings show that these dishonest persons have deceived their targets into believing that the exercise will take place at designated centres in Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Edo and Ondo states etc.
“The PAP office makes it clear that it is neither planning or executing any demobilization operations in the Niger Delta.
In order for Niger Delta residents to be eligible for its educational scholarship program and vocational training programs, the Presidential Amnesty Office does not demand payment or favors.
As a result, the agency counsels the Niger Delta’s youth and general populace to avoid falling for these disloyal individuals’ illegal schemes. It is not appropriate to trick any Niger Deltan into joining the illegal operation
Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the PAP Administrator, disapproves of these unpatriotic individuals’ blatant attempt to damage the office’s reputation by their fraudulent actions.
In order to serve as a deterrent to others, the PAP helmsman urges security agencies to arrest and prosecute those involved in the fake demobilization program.
