No room for sub-standard projects in Delta – Oborevwori
The governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, declared on Tuesday that his government will not tolerate substandard work and asked those who were appointed to take on projects to the highest standard possible by working with only companies who have a track record of performance.
The charge was given by Governor Oborevwori during the inauguration of the boards of the Warri, Uvwie, and Environs Development Agency and the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency at Government House in Asaba.
Member of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency include; Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro – Chairman; Chief Patrick Ukah – Director General; while Mr Chukwuedo Chekwube; Engr Ogaga Akpomedaye and Mrs Endurance Ibru are members.
Governor Oborevwori stated at the ceremony that the new appointees have continuously displayed a desire for the growth of the state and urged the new boards to put in place strong governance mechanisms for the overall performance of the agencies.
He advised the new boards to only hire contractors with a demonstrated track record of excellent quality and success.
“I congratulate the new appointees on their well-deserved appointments. Given the strategic importance of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency and Warri, Uvwie, and Environs Development Agency, to our urban renewal initiatives, it is imperative that they are run by the calibre of persons who are in tune with the policy direction of this administration.
“Aside from possessing the qualities of competence, loyalty, and resilience, the new members of these boards have one thing in common – shared aspirations with the core values of this administration.
“The new appointees have consistently demonstrated a commitment to Delta State’s growth and development.” I am confident that this appointment will motivate them to redouble their efforts in contributing their fair share to the actualization of our M.O.R.E Agenda.”
